Clay, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A wintery motor vehicle crash occurred Wednesday morning, December 9, 2009, according to WCAX.
New York police and emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene of the crash on Route 57, near Syracuse, in the town of Clay.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a 2005 Ford Freestyle violently struck by a 2009 Mercury Mountaineer. The Ford reportedly crossed in front of the path of the Mercury, when it was hit. Police officials on the scene identified the driver of the Ford as 41-year-old Lisa Turo, along with a passenger, her 20-year-old son, Justin Geary.
The two-vehicle crash gravely injured Lisa, and her injuries proved fatal at the scene. EMS transported her son, Justin, to the University Hospital to be treated by doctors and nurses for his injuries. His condition was not known. Police identified the driver of the Mercury as 39-year-old Dieanna Mercurio, resident of Baldwinsville.
She was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment of her non-life threatening injuries. Her injuries were not specified. Police did not report if any citations were given for the fatal two-car crash, or if the damaged were towed from the scene.
