Orlando SUV crash leaves 1 dead, 2 seriously injured.
Orlando, FL—A black SUV crashed through a fence and into the retention pond at the Fountains Resort on Saturday, December 5, 2009, tragically killing one and seriously injuring two others. Witnesses allegedly reported that when the SUV was turning into a parking spot at this particular International Drive resort, when the SUV suddenly sped up, crashed through a white fence, and dove into the pond landing upside down, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
The woman in the car, identified as Dana King, 35, did not survive in the crash. Her fiancé, Brandon Nesmith, 33, a Jacksonville man, and three children, Taylor Nesmith, 13, Brealyn Nesmith, 3, and Ariel King, 14, were also in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Brandon and Taylor escaped without serious injuries, allegedly calling out for help immediately after exiting the almost fully submerged vehicle. Several bystanders including a cop were in the pond in no time, all making great attempts at getting the remaining two children and the fiancé out of the car. Unfortunately, the fiancé was fatally injured in the crash. The two children, who were in critical condition after the wreck received cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and were transported by emergency medical services (EMS) to local hospitals to be treated for their serious car crash injuries.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, it is still unknown as to why this accident occurred in the first place.
