Utah personal injury lawyers alerts- A young girl was injured after a fall from a Alta Ski Area chairlift.
Salt Lake City, UT—A ski chairlift accident seriously injured a 4-year-old girl who plummeted 30 to 40 feet to the ground below. It is unknown what caused the young girl to fall from the chairlift on Saturday, December 19, 2009 around 4:30 p.m., at Alta Ski Area, as reported by the Salt Lake Tribune.
According to the Unified Fire Authority, a 4-year-old girl was riding on the Sunnyside chairlift with another unidentified woman, when the young girl somehow fell 30 to 40 feet to the snow-covered ground below. The girl was discovered face down in the snow by another person who was riding on a nearby chairlift, who then called 911. The girl was still face-down in the snow and not breathing when the ski patrol arrived at the scene. She was in and out of consciousness before she was flown to Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City. She is reportedly listed in serious condition while medical professionals are determining if she sustained any serious head, neck, or internal injuries from the fall. She did land in powder snow rather than the packed snow on the ski run, which could have helped in breaking her fall. Police officials are investigating the chair lift accident to determine how it occurred.
