Legal news for New York Truck Accident attorneys –A tractor-trailer’s cargo caused a crash in Syracuse New York.
Syracuse, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A semi truck struck a bridge Monday evening and the cargo fell out causing drivers to crash in Syracuse, December 28, 2009, according to WSYR.
Syracuse police and emergency medical services (EMS) reported to the scene just after the 5:30 p.m. wreck on 690 eastbound over Midler Avenue overpass. The truck driver continued to drive away after part of his load fell off the back of the truck and he crashed through the bridge. The overpass was reportedly 14 feet high, where as the legal limit for trucks is 13 feet and 6 inches.
One driver avoided the cargo in the road but then was hit from behind by another motor vehicle. Police reported that one driver sustained injuries in the wreck, but he was taken home and treated for his injuries. He was not transported to the hospital. The driver’s identity was not disclosed.
