Wisconsin personal injury attorneys alerts- A car crashed into three snowmobiles, killed one and injured four others.
Rhinelander, WI—A man was killed while he was riding his snowmobile with two other snowmobiles, when he was struck by a car alongside the shoulder of a road. The fatal crash occurred on Friday, January 1, 2010, around 1:00 a.m., on the westbound shoulder Highway 8 in Pelican, as reported by the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
According to police officials, a car driven by Charles A. Worden, 76, of Rhinelander, reportedly struck the snowmobiles that were riding on the shoulder of the roadway. The collision killed a 41-year-old man who was riding on one of the three snowmobiles. Worden reportedly sustained injuries in the collision, and was taken to Saint Mary’s Hospital and later transferred to another hospital for continued treatment of his injuries. The driver of the second snowmobile, James A. Fedel, 48, of Port Washington, was also injured in the crash and was transported by ambulance to Saint Mary’s, where he was later airlifted to a Madison area hospital for treatment. The driver of the third snowmobile, Deborah A. Fedel, 49, of Port Washington, and her passenger, Julie J. Dornburg, 47, of Port Washington were also transported by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to Saint Mary’s Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and released. It is currently unknown why the driver of the car struck the snowmobilers. Police officials are currently investigating the fatal crash.
