Consumer Product Safety Commission alerts product liability lawyers- Military figures were recalled due to lead paint hazard.
Los Angeles, CA—Jide Trading Inc., of Commerce, California and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) http://www.cpsc.gov/ announced a voluntary recall of military toy figures, which contain lead paint. Consumers are advised to stop using the toys immediately unless otherwise instructed, as reported by the CPSC.
Nearly 2,100 military toy figures were sold at Dollar Stores and other discount retail stores from November 2008 to April 2009. The surface paint on the toy figures contains excessive level of lead, which violates the federal lead paint standard. No injuries or incidents were reported involving the toys that were manufactured in China. The recalled product is packaged on a blister card, which includes a male military figure that is about four inches in height with various accessories. Consumers who have purchased the recalled product are advised to stop using the toy immediately, and contact Jide Trading for a full refund or replacement toy.
