Waterford, OH—A motor vehicle collision (MVC) on Ohio State Route 339 left three people injured on Tuesday afternoon, January 19, 2010. The 12:57 p.m. crash involved three vehicles, according to information provided by the Marietta Times.
A northbound 2003 Volkswagen, driven by 25-year-old Ashley D. McNabb, allegedly stopped on Ohio 339 in an attempt to turn into Tuner’s One Stop, but was instead struck from behind by a 1993 Chevrolet Silverado, being driven by 76-year-old Wilbert A. Toomey. The initial crash subsequently sent the Volkswagen careening across the centerline where it was involved in a second collision; this time with an oncoming 2003 Dodge Ram 2500, driven by 58-year-old Marvin C. Hanger. An employee at Turner’s Food Court reportedly called 911 after witnessing the violent chain-reaction crash.
All three drivers suffered injuries in the motor vehicle accident. Responding emergency medical services (EMS) crews allegedly transported McNabb to Selby General Hospital where she was treated by doctors and nurses and then released. Hangar was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital after sustaining injuries including a laceration to the head as well as reported cuts on his hands. Medical professionals also transported Toomey to Marietta Memorial Hospital after suffering minor injuries in the incident. It was reported that both Hangar and Toomey were still being treated at MMH on Tuesday evening. Officials did not release their conditions. The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating the violent wreck.
