Braintree, NJ (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A male pedestrian was struck by sport utility vehicle on Commercial Street in front of a 7-Eleven store Monday evening, January 25, 2010, according to The Patriot-Ledger.
Braintree police officials reported to the scene where the male pedestrian had reportedly stepped off the median and walked into the path of the SUV shortly before 6 p.m. in Weymouth Landing.
Police reported that the Mercury Mountaineer had stopped at a traffic light at Quincy Avenue intersection and began to turn left onto Commercial Street when a man walked right out in front of the vehicle. The driver only identified, as a 42-year-old female from Braintree did not reportedly sustain injuries in the accident.
Emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene to transport the 33-year-old injured Weymouth man via ambulance to South Shore Hospital where he was treated by doctors and nurses. His condition was said to be non-life threatening. The streets were slippery and wet from the rain at the time of the accident. Braintree police officials charged the driver with operating a motor vehicle with an invalid license, which she revealed to the police at the scene.
