Marlboro, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A motor vehicle accident involving two school buses sent 17 children to the hospital for minor injuries, February 1, 2010, according to WHDH-TV.
The two buses reportedly collided in the rear parking lot of Marlboro Intermediate School around 2:40 p.m., at the end of the school day. Local police and emergency medical services (EMS) arrived at the scene to assist.
The middle school children on board the buses reported two different accounts of the wreck when asked. Several said that one of the bus drivers was distracted while attempting to discipline one of the children. Others said that it appeared the first bus rolled into the back of the second.
There were 17 middle school children taken to local hospitals to be examined by doctors and nurses. The majority of the children seen sustained minor lacerations on their faces and heads, others sustained pain in their neck and back. Many of the children were upset by the school bus crash. Both bus drivers were apparently unharmed. Some worried parents rushed to the scene when they heard the news. Police continue to investigate what caused the motor vehicle accident.
