Forsyth County, GA—A head-on collision left two people fatally injured and three others hurt on State Route 53. The motor vehicle collision (MVC) occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2010, reports WSBTV.com.

A 2005 Dodge Stratus, driven by 44-year-old Deborah Elaine Mace, was reportedly traveling westbound when it crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic, striking an eastbound vehicle head-on. The vehicle involved was described as a 2007 Kia Sportage SUV, driven by 48-year-old Ricky Joe Frady. Though Mace was the only person in the Dodge, there were three passengers reported traveling in the Kia at the time of the violent collision. According to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office deputy, Frady’s injuries proved fatal at the scene.

Mace allegedly suffered severe injuries in the motor vehicle accident and had to be airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center via medical helicopter. Emergency medical services (EMS) crews also flew 18-year-old Kishia Ray to Gwinnett Medical Center and transported 48-year-old Hattie Lorene Skywark to North Fulton Hospital via ambulance. A third Kia passenger, identified as 57-year-old Brenda Williams, also sustained fatal injuries in the deadly wreck. Officials allegedly reported that speed and alcohol might have been factors in the fatal head-on collision. Charges are pending the outcome of the accident investigation.
