Latrobe, PA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – A young school boy was dropped off by his school bus at a stop miles away from his home, Tuesday, February, 2. 2010, announced WPXI.
The parents of a Latrobe 5-year-old boy were distraught when their son was not on the Latrobe Elementary school bus when it they were at the bus stop waiting for him. Unfortunately, the child had been dropped at another bus stop miles away from the right place.
His parents, the Lombardo’s, were reportedly incredibly distressed thinking the worst had happened to their little boy when they did not know his whereabouts for close to a half an hour. Their son, Christopher, is a student at Latrobe Elementary, and had been taking the bus with the same route and got off at the same bus stop since September.
Mrs. Lombardo reported that she received a call from officials at the boys school stating that their son was located and he had been dropped off at the wrong bus stop five miles away from the correct stop. The boy had reportedly got off at a friend’s bus stop. Christopher was reportedly had gone with a nice lady to her house, who he did not know. Mrs. Lombardo was grateful that her boy was safe, though she is still reportedly angered by the situation.
First Student, the school bus company, did apologize to the family of Christopher in regards to the incident. The company has also put a new policy in place to prevent an accident like this from happening again. All of the school bus drivers will now be given information, including each of the Kindergarten students names’ and their individual bus stops. According to the new policy, an additional adult will be present on the bus to make sure the children get off at the correct stop.
