Texas automobile accident lawyers alert- A street racing crash in Fort Worth left one man dead.
Fort Worth, TX—An apparent street-racing wreck claimed the life of a Forth Worth man after his friends pick-up truck hit a retaining wall in South Fort Worth. The fatal collision occurred around 10:40 p.m., on a service road along southbound Interstate 35W near Bolt Street, as reported by the Dallas Morning News.
According to police officials, two trucks that were both described as red Chevrolet Avalanches were reportedly street racing eastbound on Bolt Street, which ends in a T-intersection a the I-35W service road. Carlos Jimenez-Cano, 20, was reportedly riding in the front passenger seat of his friend’s truck when it ran a red light and slammed into the retaining wall. The other truck involved clipped an Isuzu Axiom SUV as it passed through the intersection; the truck then fled the scene of the crash. Police officials are still trying to locate the truck and its driver. The driver of the SUV was remained unharmed in the collision. Cano was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency medical crews. The driver of the truck Cano was riding in, who was also 20-years-old, was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in critical condition. The identity of the driver is currently being withheld by police officials. Alcohol was a factor in the collision. A full investigation is currently underway.
