Ohio auto accident attorney alerts- two OSHP troopers injured in rollover accident.
Williams County, OH (News)—Two Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) troopers were involved in a rollover crash early Sunday, February 14, 2010, leaving them both injured. The single-vehicle wreck occurred near West Unity, Ohio in Williams County, according to information provided by ToledoBlade.com.
According to responding OSHP officials, the troopers from the Defiance Post reportedly tried to pull over a speeding motorist, while traveling on U.S. Route 127, when their patrol car veered off the right side of the roadway. The patrol vehicle then proceeded to roll over several times before coming to a rest on its wheels. The state troopers were identified as 25-year-old Jason Urbina, the driver of the patrol car, and 32-year-old Matthew Uran, a passenger. Both state Highway Patrol troopers were reported wearing their seat belts at the time of the rollover accident.
Emergency medical services (EMS) crews seemingly responded to the scene to transport the injured Highway Patrol troopers to area hospitals to be treated for the injuries they acquired in the motor vehicle accident. Trooper Urbina was reportedly taken to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers (CHWC) Bryan Hospital with undisclosed injuries while Uran was allegedly airlifted to University of Toledo Medical Center (also known as Medical College of Ohio Hospital) and then subsequently transferred to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center to be treated by doctors and nurses. Uran was reportedly listed in fair condition at the medical center. OSHP authorities are conducting a full investigation into the incident.
