Legal news for Massachusetts construction accident attorneys –A medical helicopter transported an injured construction workers from a construction accident in Cape Cod.
Cape Cod, MA (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Two construction workers were injured on a military reservation when the ceiling of a building collapsed Wednesday, February 17, 2010, according to The Boston Globe.
A spokeswoman for the Massachusetts National Guard reported that the ceiling of one of the military barracks, which was under construction, happen to collapse on top of two civilian construction workers at 9:25 a.m. Police officials arrived at the scene of the construction accident at 5242 Lee Road at Camp Edwards located on the Massachusetts Military Reservation in Cape Cod. Investigators reported that the two workers had been taking apart the concrete, plastic and lath ceiling in the bathroom on the first floor when a part of the ceiling caved in on them.
Emergency medical services (EMS) were called to the scene to transport the injured workers. One of the workers was taken via ambulance to Falmouth hospital for doctors and nurses to treat his injuries. The other worker suffered from critical injuries and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital via medical helicopter. The identities of either worker were not disclosed. The National Guard continues to investigate the construction accident. It was not reported if officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) www.osha.gov were contacted.
