Franshaw Inc. recalled Children’s Hooded Jackets due to strangulation hazard

Legal news for New York product liability attorneys –CPSC announced the recall of hooded jackets and sweaters due to strangulation hazard.

New York, NY (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Franshaw Inc., in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) www.cpsc.gov has voluntary recalled Children’s Hooded Jackets due to a potential strangulation hazard.

There have been 2,400 of the Children’s Hooded Jackets sold nationwide exclusively at the Burlington Coat Factory from September 2006 through September 2009. The reason for the recall was due to the fact that the drawstrings in the hood can pose a strangulation threat to young children. Thus far, there has been no injuries or incidents reported to date.

Consumers are advised to discontinue use of the jackets or remove the drawstrings immediately. The Children’s Jackets Blue Heart sweatshirts were olive and pink with a style number of 48052. The Just a Girl’s brand Children’s sweatshirts were a light blue with a style number of 48052. The RN number 87888 could be found on the center of the back neck. Both the sweatshirts were sold in sizes 4 to 6X. They were sold for $10 at the Burlington Coat Factory. The hooded jackets were made in China and imported via Franshaw Inc. in New York, N.Y.

Consumers may return the recalled garments to the Burlington Coat Factory or to the company Franshaw Inc. for a full refund. For more information regarding these recalled products, contact Franshaw Inc. at (800) 477-3274 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
