Personal injury attorneys alert- A explosion killed a suicidal man and injured three police officers.

Casper, WY—A suicidal man killed himself and injured three police officers, who were there to help the distraught man, when an explosion occurred at the man’s house; leveling the residence. The tragic incident occurred just after noon on Saturday, February 20, 2010, as reported by USA Today.

Casper police reported that 44-year-old Michael Lesher had rigged his natural gas so that it couldn’t be shut off from the outside, and as concerned police officers approached his front porch an explosion occurred. The three officers were attempting to ventilate the house and talk to the suicidal man, when the force of the explosion threw them into the air. All three police officers were injured and treated for abrasions and bruises; no word if they were taken to an area hospital. Lesher was found unconscious, but still breathing in the basement at around 6 p.m. Lesher was transported to Wyoming Medical Center by responding emergency medical services (EMS) teams, where he was pronounced dead at 8:45 p.m., Saturday. The Casper Fire Department is investigating the incident.

Lesher’s marriage had apparently ended and he was being evicted from the house where the blast took place, in which he was ordered to vacate by noon on Saturday.
