Florida auto accident lawyer alerts- Orlando motor vehicle collision caused injuries ranging from minor to fatal.

Orlando, FL—A violent multi-vehicle crash resulted in one fatality and left five others injured, including three children, on Thursday, March 18, 2010. The motor vehicle collision (MVC), which involved two cars and an SUV, occurred at the Oak Ridge Road and Texas Avenue, according to information provided by the Orlando Sentinel.

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) authorities reported that a westbound 1995 Honda, driven by an unidentified 32-year-old male, was initially traveling in the left through lane of Oak Ridge Road when it suddenly veered into the left through lane of eastbound Oak Ridge for unknown reasons. Upon doing so, the Honda smashed into a Pontiac, driven by 36-year-old Wilfredo Velazquez, causing it to careen around and eventually come to a rest in the eastbound lanes. A Toyota sport utility vehicle, driven by 63-year-old Legrand Geneus, then became involved in a separate collision with the Honda.

Orange County fire rescue crews responded to the scene with 29 firefighters, who apparently had to use hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the injured victims who were trapped inside the damaged vehicles as a result of the crash. The driver of the Honda was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The motorist’s identification was undisclosed pending family notification. Three passengers riding in the Honda at the time, identified as 14-year-old Manuel Sanchez, 8-year-old Crismeli Esquero and 3-year-old Dairon Esquero, were taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children to be treated for the serious injuries they suffered in the wreck. Velazquez was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center after suffering serious injuries as well. Geneus allegedly sustained minor injuries, though reports did not reveal whether he received medical attention or not. It was not stated whether any citations were issued in connection with the fatal motor vehicle accident. Investigations continue.
