Legal news for Massachusetts automobile accident and personal injury attorneys – State police have heightened efforts to find those responsible for lodging rocks at motorists driving on Route 3.

Kingston, MA (www.NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – State police are increasing manpower to find whoever is responsible for hurling rocks at the windows of motorists on the South Shore’s Route 3, as reported by The Boston Channel.

The incidents started on Friday, March 19, 2010, with three cars reporting hits and damages. Three more reports of rocks hitting the windows of driving cars came in between 5 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 and the following Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. These latest incidents happened around exits eight and nine in Kingston, the same area as the Friday occurrences, police said.

The first report on Monday came at 5:25 p.m., which was followed by police swarming the area on Route 3. They later stated they did not know what exactly hit the car and whether or not it was connected to the earlier events. At 7:07 p.m., a second report was made of something striking a car in that area. The latest report was on Tuesday at 7:10 a.m., in which the driver informed police his car was hit by something and the rear windshield was shattered.

No injuries have been reported yet, but at least six cars have been damaged. Police are running tests on three pellet guns that were turned over voluntarily by a nearby family over the weekend, but it is still unclear if they were in any way connected to the highway incidents.

Police have placed extra patrols in the area as added precautions.
