Legal news for Washington truck wreck attorneys. A single-vehicle crash trapped two men for several hours following rollover wreck.
Driving under the influence charges will not likely be pressed following Spokane County, WA truck crash.
Spokane County, WA—A single-vehicle truck crash trapped two men for several hours before rescue teams arrived at the scene. The crash occurred early Monday, March 29, 2010 near Valleyford in Spokane County, as reported by the Seattle Post Intelligencer.
It was not reported how the crash occurred, but sheriff’s officers believe speed and alcohol were contributing factors of the truck wreck. The truck reportedly slammed into a tree and flipped down a hillside more than 50 feet before coming to a stop. The driver, 20, and the 27-year-old passenger survived the wreck, but had to be removed from the heavily damaged vehicle by responding firefighters. The passenger was flown to a Spokane County hospital for treatment of leg fractures. The driver was transported by ambulance to a Spokane hospital as well. The driver’s injuries were not reported nor their conditions.
Police officials reported that there were beer cans at the scene, but because so many hours had passed before they were rescued, it is not likely the driver will face any driving under the influence (DUI) charges. A full investigation is currently underway.
