The Utah Highway Patrol alerts Utah 18-wheeler accident lawyers- An 18-wheeler crashed into a Sevier County home
Richfield, UT—A tractor-trailer ended up embedded in a Sevier County home for unknown reasons on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. The Utah Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred around 7:40 p.m., after the semi left Interstate 70 to transition onto State Road 89, as reported by The Salt Lake Tribune.
According to troopers, a semi was transitioning from I-70 to south State Road 89, when the big rig started to veer to the left. The semi then crossed the northbound lanes of traffic and hit a street light. The semi continued off the road where it went down an embankment and through a fence, continuing another quarter mile before crashing through two outbuildings and into the back of a garage, where it finally came to a stop. Thankfully, no one was home when the semi careened through the residence.
Officials are not quite sure why the semi left the road, but they believe the 67-year-old driver from Arizona may have experienced a medical condition leading to the crash. Investigators do not believe speed or weather were factors in the wreck.
The driver was reportedly transported to Sevier Valley Hospital for an evaluation and treatment of injuries he sustained during the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
