Los Angeles, CA—A fatal accident along Roscoe Boulevard left a grizzly scene, with car and body parts scattered across a half-mile area near the Van Nuys airport. The multiple fatality wreck occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday, May 6, 2010, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

The Los Angeles Police Department reported that a 2007 Chevy Corvette was traveling at a high rate of speed, when it suddenly struck a guardrail on Roscoe Boulevard for unknown reasons. The sports car then continued for several hundred feet, where it crossed a set of railway tracks and finally came to a stop on its roof.

Responding emergency crews found the bodies of two men and a woman lying around the car. Officials were not sure at the time if they were passengers or pedestrians. A fourth body found pinned inside the vehicle is believed to be the driver.

The L.A. County corner’s office has only identified two of the four fatally injured victims at this time. They were identified as Jorge Nunez Jr., 28, of Sylmar, and Jossue D. Colato, 23, of Pacoima.

Police officials are conducting a full investigation into the wreck and how it was caused.
