Town of Rutland, WI—A multi-vehicle crash left four people with injuries ranging from minor to serious Saturday, June 5, 2010. The motor vehicle collision (MVC) occurred along Wisconsin Highway 138, otherwise known as State Trunk Highway 138, as reported by the Wisconsin State Journal.
A 1986 Chevrolet Camaro was situated in the eastbound lanes of the highway, waiting to turn left into a driveway, when a 2002 Kia Rio violently rear-ended the car.
On impact, the Camaro careened into a westbound 1998 Ford Taurus. Accident debris even managed to strike a 2007 Toyota Yaris. The Yaris was positioned in a driveway waiting for a chance to pull out onto the highway at the time.
Emergency medical services (EMS) crews seemingly responded to the scene to rush those injured to area hospitals for treatment. The scene was located east of Oregon in Dane County, Wisconsin.
The driver of the Camaro, 30-year-old Chad F. Macleod, and his passenger, 25-year-old Amanda C. Macleod, were not wearing their seatbelts at the time. While Chad sustained minor injuries, Amanda’s injuries were reported to be more serious. They were both taken to UW Hospital.
Erica M. Irick, 22, was driving the Kia at the time. Irick and her passenger, 23-year-old Donovan E. Saiz, suffered moderate injuries in the four-car wreck. They were also transported to UW Hospital for treatment.
Neither 21-year-old Andrew W. Fuerstenberg, driver of the Ford Taurus, nor 18-year-old Kimberly A. Storage, driver of the Toyota Yaris, suffered injuries in the accident.
According to officials from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, traveling on wet roadways at excessive speeds likely played a role in the crash.
