Kent, WA—Seattle Bike Supply and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have voluntarily 2010 Redline Conquest Cyclocross Bicycles and Framesets. A total of 330 bicycles and frame sets are involved in the recall.

The recall was initiated after discovering the bicycle fork’s legs can detach from the fork crown, which can cause the rider to loose control, resulting in a fall and injury hazard.

At this time Seattle Bike Supply has received five reports of cracks near the forks crown, but no injuries were reported.

The CPSC stated in their press released, “This recall involves all 2010 Redline Conquest Cyclocross bicycles and framesets. The bicycles and framesets were sold in yellow and black, and have aluminum frames and aluminum forks with aluminum steering tubes. ‘Redline’ is printed on the bicycle frame. The bicycles are equipped with a 700C wheel and frame sizes ranging from 44cm to 60 cm.”

The recalled bicycles and framesets were sold at bicycle specialty stores nationwide between July 2009 through May 2010. The bicycles sold for about $1,400 and the framesets retailed at $400.

Consumers are advised to return the bicycles and framesets to their local Redline bicycle dealer to receive a free fork replacement.
