Pontiac, MI—Police reported a fight via Facebook ended tragically when a seemingly infuriated woman chased and rammed the back of a Ford Taurus, sending it into the path of a refrigeration truck Wednesday, July 21, 2010. The crash claimed the life of a 21-year-old female driver and left a passenger in the rammed vehicle critically injured. The unidentified driver responsible for ramming the Taurus now faces several criminal charges, including second-degree murder in connection with the fatal accident, according to information provided by AZ Central, as well as a previous report titled, “Pontiac MI Crash News: Woman Arrested for Ramming Car, Causing Deadly Accident.”
Police did not provide specifics regarding the Facebook feud that pressed the unidentified woman to ram Alesha Abernathy’s car Wednesday. However, the outcome was lethal.
The Ford Taurus was crushed on impact of the refrigeration truck. While Alesha Abernathy was rushed to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital after the wreck, her injuries proved fatal upon her arrival.
A passenger in the Ford Taurus, 20-year-old Danielle Booth, was also transported to the hospital. She was listed in critical condition after the motor vehicle collision (MVC).
Reports also indicated the driver who rammed Abernathy’s vehicle had her 3-year-old daughter in the backseat at the time. She faces charges including second-degree murder, assault and child abuse. Her arraignment was scheduled for Friday, July 23, 2010.
