Seattle, WA—Police stated “they haven’t seen anything quite like it” when they arrived at the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 405. The crash, which was likely caused by a drunk driver, left a motorcycle standing directly upright, as reported by KOIN Local 6.
According to the Washington State Patrol, in the early morning hours of Friday, August 6, 2010, just after midnight, a female motorist slammed into the back of a motorcycle. The impact of the wreck ejected the biker from the motorcycle, as the rear half of the bike got wedged underneath the front end of the car, all while the motorcycle remained standing perfectly upright.
The car continued down the 405, dragging the motorcycle nearly a tenth of a mile before coming to a stop.
Police officers identified the driver of the car as a 38-year-old Bothell woman. Officers arrested the woman under the suspicion of DUI.
The motorcyclist, who was not identified, was rushed to Evergreen Medical Center for treatment of apparent road rash, and to be evaluated for internal injuries.
A full investigation into the wreck is currently underway.
