Martinez, CA—A two-vehicle crash along state Highway 4, left a Concord man dead after he rear-ended another vehicle on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. The fatal crash occurred at 7:52 a.m., on eastbound Highway 4, just east of Morello Avenue, as reported by CBS5.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a motorcyclist was traveling at around 70 mph, on his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle in the No.1 lane of the highway, when he rounded a turn and was met with stopped traffic. He wasn’t able to stop in time for unknown reasons, causing him to crash into the back of a 1999 Ford Expedition, which was being operated by a 50-year-old Pittsburgh man.
The motorcyclist was rushed to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where medical professionals pronounced him dead.
The driver of the Ford was uninjured in the wreck.
The CHP is investigating the fatal accident.
