Boise, ID—A three-vehicle crash, involving a Boise patrol officer, left the officer injured on Monday, September 27, 2010. The crash occurred in the intersection of Curtis and Franklin roads at around 11:20 a.m., as reported by KTVB.
Witnesses reported that the patrol officer was traveling eastbound on Franklin Road, when he entered the intersection with his emergency lights activated. The patrol car collided with a maroon Dodge Durango, which was turning southbound on Curtis Road from westbound Franklin. The patrol car and the Durango collided, which propelled the patrol car into a southbound white GMC Sierra that was stopped at a red light on Curtis.
The police officer suffered a cut to his head and was transported by responding emergency crews to a nearby hospital, according to the Idaho State Patrol. The officer has since been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.
It was not reported who exactly was injured as well, but reports indicated that others involved in the wreck suffered minor injuries.
The Idaho State Patrol is conducting an investigation into the wreck.
