Fort Worth, TX—A two-vehicle collision, involving two school buses, sent a dozen students to Tarrant County hospitals on Monday, October 4, 2010. The collision occurred in the 3800 block of North Crowley Celburne Road in Forth Worth at around 8 a.m., as reported by WFAA.
According to police officials, an empty school bus made a turn into a subdivision, when another bus, which was traveling behind the empty school bus slammed into the rear-end of the first bus. The impact of the collision pushed the bus into a brick façade of a decorative wall for the subdivision.
The second bus was carrying 26 students from the Crowley ISD at the time of the accident. Responding emergency crews rushed eleven students to the Cook Children’s Medical Center for treatment. One other student was taken to Harris Methodist Fort Worth for treatment.
By noon that day, majority of the injured students were released from the hospital. Officials say the students were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The driver of the second bus was issued a traffic citation for failure to control speed.
