Ithaca, NY– The family of a Colorado woman are searching for answers and vindication of her daughter’s name after she was tragically killed in a two-vehicle accident on October 5, 2010. The fatal crash occurred at around 3:13 p.m., on state Route 13 in Tompkins County, as previously reported in “Ithaca NY 18-Wheeler Crash: Colo. Woman Killed in Semi-Truck Wreck.”
The family of Jade E. Moore, 24, of Boulder, Colo. are fighting allegations that their daughter ran a stop-sign, which subsequently caused a collision with a semi-truck. Moore’s family asserts that if you knew Jade, you would know that she did not fail to yield at the stop sign; “she was always a careful driver,” claimed her mother, Linda Woods.
According to reports, a Honda driven by Moore was traveling northbound on Mineah Road, when she apparently failed to yield to a stop sign and drove into the path of a tractor-trailer, which was headed east on state Route 13. The tractor-trailer slammed into the driver’s side of the car, causing both vehicles to come to a stop in a ditch on the north side of the roadway. Moore was sadly pronounced dead about an hour later at Cayuga Medical Center.
The family of Jade Moore has since hired an attorney concerning the tragic accident. The only witness to the crash was the semi-truck driver, Pierre Perron, 58, of St. Madeleine, Quebec, who was uninjured. The family does not completely believe his account of the accident.
Investigations into the semi-truck wreck are underway.
