NJ Construction Accident: Worker killed after falling 30-feet in East Brunswick

East Brunswick, NJ– A 30-foot fall at an East Brunswick construction site fatally injured a worker on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. The construction accident occurred around 1:10 p.m. at the Summerhill Square retail complex on Route 18 South, as reported by MyCentralJersey.com.

Police officials identified the worker as Michael Testa, 40, of Brick.

Accident reports indicated that Testa fell from the roof of a building that is under construction at the retail complex.

When officers arrived at the scene, Testa had stopped breathing and was suffering from an apparent head injury. Responding emergency medical crews administered CPR and rushed Test to Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick for treatment. Later that afternoon, doctors pronounced him dead.

Testa was employed by Lunar Steel of North Brunswick.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and East Brunswick police are investigating the construction accident.
