Kansas City fire truck crashed into wrecked school bus; 2 injured

Kansas City, MO—A school bus slid off an icy roadway and hit a pole, before being hit again by Kansas City fire truck that was responding to the original crash. The automobile accident occurred around 9 a.m., near the intersection of Bales and Indiana, as reported by NBC Action News.

According to officials, the school bus was transporting students from Warford Elementary School in the Hickman Mills School District when it slid off the roadway and hit a pole. The roads were reportedly icy at the time of the crash.

A responding fire truck then collided with the school bus as it arrived at the scene. The impact was not severe.

Two students on the bus suffered “very minor injuries” in the collision. One injured student was transported to an area hospital as a precaution. The other injured victim was taken home by their parents.

Investigations are underway.
