Houston, TX — A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed following a tragic accident at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, in which a man fell 28 feet from a roller coaster on March 20, 2011, reported the Houston Chronicle.

The civil lawsuit was filed on Thursday, March 24, 2011, on behalf of the victim’s parents and his 6-year-old son, Isaiah.

The victim, Brian Greenhouse, fell about 28 feet from the HiMiler roller coaster ride onto another man, who was walking near the ride at the time. Emergency crews rushed to the scene and administered CPR to the man who fell from the ride, before he was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital and later pronounced dead. The other man was transported to the HLSR medical facility for treatment of a broken ankle, as previously reported in “Man killed in 28-foot fall from roller coaster at Houston rodeo carnival.”

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. HLSR officials do not believe the carnival ride malfunctioned, because the safety bar and belt were still in place after the accident.
