High Point, NC — Two people were killed when a small plane clipped one home and slammed into another on Wednesday, March 30, 2011. The fatal plane crash occurred at about 5:45 p.m. in the Frasier Downs neighborhood off Sandy Ridge Road, reported WXII.

According to officials, the Beechcraft Baron was en route to Winston-Salem when adverse weather conditions forced the pilot to divert to Greensboro. The plane was trying to land at Piedmont Triad International Airport, when it crashed on its approach to the runway. The plane clipped one home before crashing into a second home on Brian Hollars Court.

Four people were inside the second home and made it out safely. No one was home in the first house at the time of the accident.

The second home caught on fire as a result of the wreck, but fire officials had it extinguished by 7 p.m.

One victim was identified as Dr. Thomas W. Littlejohn, who was a passenger on the plane. The identity of the pilot has yet to be released.

The plane is reportedly owned by Charlotte-based Jet Logistics.

Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will be reporting to the scene to conduct a full investigation.
