Cincinnati, OH — An Ohio man was arrested and charged for barking at a police dog early Sunday morning, April 3, 2011 in the Cincinnati suburb of Mason. The man claimed in his defense that “the dog started it,” reported CBS News.
Officer Bradley Walker was reportedly investigating a car crash at a pub, when he heard the K-9 barking uncontrollably from the inside of his cop car. Apparently the “animal impersonator” Ryan James Stephens, 25, was making hissing and barking noises at his police dog.
When Walker asked Stephens why he was harassing the dog, he claimed “the dog started it.” Walker further noted that Stephens appeared highly intoxicated at the time.
Stephens was charged with a misdemeanor for harassing the police dog. His court date is set for April 21.
No report on whether he was sent to the “dog house” when he got home.
