San Francisco, CA — A University of New Mexico football player may be facing charges of trespassing, battery and resisting arrest after he was taken into custody for boarding a plane wearing low-riding pants, reported UPI.
The 20-year-old football player, Deshon Marman, boarded a plane Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at the San Francisco airport after returning to San Francisco for a friend’s funeral. Marman was on his way back to New Mexico when a US Airways employee asked him to pull up his pants.
Police responded to a complaint of indecent exposure, which stated that a man’s pants were so low that almost all of his boxer shorts were visible.
Marman was arrested and his bail was set at $11,000.
Marman’s mother, Donna Doyle, believes Marman was a target because of his race, clothes and deadlocks.
Marman was in San Francisco for the funeral of a former teammate, David Henderson. He passed away 11 days after he was shot on May 26.
Investigations are underway.
