6-Year-Old Killed in Swimming Pool Accident at Penn. Amusement Park

Elysburg, PA — A swimming pool accident at a Pennsylvania amusement park left a 6-year-old boy dead. The swimming pool accident occurred at Knoebels Amusement Park in the Knoebels Crystal Pool on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, reported 6ABC.com.

According to officials, the boy was found under the water by lifeguards who pulled him to safety and began administering CPR.

The victim was then rushed to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville where doctors pronounced him dead.

The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time.

It is unknown if the boy knew how to swim or if other factors contributed to the swimming pool accident. The exact cause of death is also still under investigation.

Police are conducting a full investigation into the fatal swimming pool accident.
