Seattle, WA — A motorcyclist was hospitalized after being involved in a collision with a Ride-the-Duck tourist vehicle Monday, October 10, 2011. The motorcycle accident took place at the intersection of Third Avenue and Pike Street just before 2:30 p.m., reported the Seattle Times.
According to officials, the motorcyclist was stopped in front of the tourist vehicle at a traffic light on Pike Street, when the amphibious vehicle pulled into the intersection and hit the biker.
The motorcyclist, who is in his 50s, reportedly became “entangled” on the under-carriage of the amphibious vehicle, causing him to be dragged across the intersection and coming out the back end of the vehicle. The biker was reportedly found 20 feet from his motorcycle.
Responding emergency crews rushed the man to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of injuries. He was initially listed in serious condition, but has since been upgraded to satisfactory condition. Rescue crews reported that the man was conscious when they arrived and he was wearing a helmet.
