Farmville, VA — A fraternity at Longwood University is facing suspension after 17 people were arrested following a hazing investigation on campus. Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) was involved in the investigation after hazing allegations were reported to Longwood University Police in September, reported WTVR.

Seventeen people were arrested, which included Longwood students and “others associated with the organization,” Longwood University reported.

The university stated that the following students were charged with one count of hazing each:

• Richard Shawn Barden

• Bryan Taylor Jellerson

• Joseph Robert Orr

• Patrick Scott Sawyer

• Christopher Michael Storey

• David Andrew Dalton

• Eric Michael Himes

• Conner Patrick Bowen

• Kyle Mason Cox

• Jarrett Murphy Sweeney

• Timothy Steven Quigley

• Matthew Robert Fife

• Dwight Gray

• Gregory Ian Feitel

• John Michael Jennison

In addition, Charles Nicholas Stetson and Brandi Ellen Maitland Stetson were arrested and also charged with hazing. Neither are students at the university.

The nature of the allegations and what took place have not been reported.

Longwood University’s anti-hazing statement on their website reads, “Hazing is defined as any action taken or situation created intentionally, whether on or off Longwood property, by either fraternity/sorority organizations, student clubs/organizations, athletic teams, individual students or student groups, to produce mental or physical discomfort, endangerment of life, embarrassment, harassment, intimidation, or ridicule.”
