As a former high school and competitive cheerleader, I couldn’t agree more with this article. Cheerleading is more than a sport (yes, it is a sport), it teaches you to be an optimistic person, a leader and a team player. I also believe that just like cheerleading, any sport teaches children valuable life lessons without even realizing it. It is so important that kids get involved in sports, because these team lessons will stay with them for the rest of their life in one shape or form.
