West Jordan, UT — A 15-year-old boy was airlifted to an area hospital with critical injuries, after he fell at Copper Hills High School on Tuesday, November 22, 2011. The teen fell just before 3:30 p.m. from a railing at the school, located at 5445 West New Bingham Highway (8500 South), reported ABC 4 News.
According to reports, the unidentified boy may have been trying to do a headstand on the second floor railing when he fell about 20-25 feet.
The teen was reportedly with other students who were doing some sort of tricks around the railing when he fell and hit his head. The boy was knocked unconscious and was bleeding badly as a result.
Responding emergency crews airlifted the boy via a medical helicopter to Intermountain Medical Center for treatment of “significant” head trauma.
The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time.
Investigations into the accident are underway.
