I believe school zero-tolerance policies are way too harsh and too broad. In the case of Lindsey Tanner, she should have never been punished to the extent she did over a Midol pill. Students who are dealing drugs or bringing weapons to school should receive this punishment, not someone who innocently tried to give a friend a Midol pill to ease her cramps. Schools really need to revise their policies, because they are hurting the wrong types of students who shouldn’t be grouped with criminals.
