Jefferson County, CA — A 14-year-old girl attacked two students with a hammer, leaving them injured at Columbine High School—the location of the April 1999 massacre that killed 12 students, reports USA Today.
The 14-year-old female student attacked a 15-year-old girl in a bathroom with a hammer, which also injured a male student when he tried to intervene.
The attack occurred Monday morning, February 13, 2012.
The conditions of the two injured students are unknown at this time. The cause for the attack is also under investigation.
The suspect is facing assault charges.
The Associated Press reported that the teen suspect warned a school employee prior to the attack.
The identities of those involved are being withheld at this time. Investigations are underway.
Columbine High School was the scene of a brutal massacre by two students who killed 12 people students and a teacher, as well as injuring 26 others. The shooters then killed themselves after the rampage.
