Atlanta – A passenger in a vehicle involved in a fatal head-on collision is attributing blame for the accident to security at a bar where she and a friend had been drinking prior. As reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, despite acknowledging that she and the driver of the vehicle she was in at the time of the accident were both intoxicated and going in the wrong direction, Beyonica Watts says that the security at an Atlanta bar were at fault for not taking their keys.
Watts’ friend, Frampere Ingle, who was driving the vehicle and Eric Hanks, the driver of the vehicle Ingle collided with head on both died as a result of the Aug. 15 accident.
Watts is quoted in the report as stating, “The accident could have been stopped if, No. 1, (security) would have locked us up for public intoxication,” Watts told Channel 2 Action News. “I want people to know … this cannot solely be blamed on Frampere Ingle.”
Deborah Hanks, the mother of Eric Hanks, is further quoted in the report as countering Watts’ claims asserting, “It’s amazing to me how people try to shift the blame to somebody else…You can’t erase the fact that they were going the wrong way and they were drunk.”
