Denver – A woman accused of faking PTSD, post-traumatic stress disorder, to avoid jury duty has pleaded guilty to related charges. As reported by ABC News, the woman, Susan Cole, entered a guilty plea for second-degree perjury and attempting to influence a public servant after showing up for jury selection pretending to be suffering from PTSD last year.

Court reporter Kelli Wessels is quoted in the report as stating of the incident to investigators at the time, “Her makeup looked like something you would wear during a theater performance… When the judge asked the entire panel if anyone had a mental illness, [Cole] stated she had difficulties getting ready in the morning, which was apparent to me by the way she was dressed.”

Cole reportedly received a two-year deferred judgment and two years probation in addition to a 40-hour community service requirement as her sentence.
