Terrell, TX – Authorities are reportedly investigating bullying rumors alleged to have preceded the death of a middle school student. As reported by The Dallas Morning News, several reports have stated that the family of Suzette Moreno, 13, whose cause of death remains unclear, is seeking answers regarding the circumstances of her death Friday.
The city and the Terrell ISD school district are quoted in the report as releasing the joint written statement, “The Terrell ISD Police routinely investigates rumors of bullying and assault…While there have been numerous unsubstantiated rumors surrounding this event, Terrell ISD police will continue to work with families and students and investigate each allegation.”
“This has been a terrible tragedy for the family, school district, the City of Terrell, and the entire community…Our thoughts continue to go out to the family and community,” the district and the city further noted in the statement.
