Alfred, Maine – A judge has dropped most of the charges in the case of a man accused in a prostitution scandal linked to a Zumba studio. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), 46 of the 59 counts against Mark Strong Sr. were dismissed by Justice Nancy Mills on Friday with the judge citing the charges could not likely be proven by prosecutors.

Prosecutors appealed the decision, which halted jury selection. Strong has been accused of conspiring with his business partner, Alexis Wright, who has been charged in connection with allegations that she used her Zumba studio in Kennebunk as a front for a prostitution ring.

Tina Nadeau, one of the attorneys for Strong, is quoted by the AP as stating of the possible consequences the delay caused by the prosecution’s appeal of the judge’s dismissal may have on the jurors, “There’s no doubt they could take it out on him… Every minute that we’re sitting here, his rights are being violated.”
