Boston – Multiple students were forced to withdraw from Harvard amid cheating accusations. As reported by Reuters, an estimated 60 students were forced to withdraw from the Ivy League school after allegedly cheating on a final exam last year.
As noted in the report, approximately 125 students were stated to have been involved in the scandal regarding the take-home exam.
Michael Smith, Harvard’s Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, is quoted by Reuters as stating of the mass suspensions in an email, “Somewhat more than half of the Administrative Board cases this past fall required a student to withdraw from the College for a period of time… Of the remaining cases, roughly half the students received disciplinary probation, while the balance ended in no disciplinary action.”
