The governor of California rejected a parole board’s recommendation to release Manson follower Bruce Davis from prison on parole. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Gov. Jerry Brown decided to reverse the board’s decision to parole Davis, who has been imprisoned for 42 years, citing he has yet to disclose full details about his involvement in killings carried out by Manson followers.

Brown is quoted by the AP as stating of Davis, “Until Davis can acknowledge and explain why he actively championed the Family’s interests and shed more light on the nature of his involvement, I am not prepared to release him.”

As noted in the report, then Governor Arnold Swarzenegger denied granting parole to Davis in 2010 for similar purposes in addition to the nature of the criminal acts that had been committed.
