Las Vegas – The Palazzo hotel-casino is seeking to have a nightclub evicted for purported obscene acts portrayed by its actors. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the 10-month-old nightclub, The Act, is seeking a restraining order to stop its closure, but remains open while awaiting the decision of a district judge.
The Palazzo, which is located on the Las Vegas Strip, says that shows at the club violate obscenity laws, with simulated sex acts, bestiality, and other purported acts being shown on stage.
Sean Dunn, special events director at The Act, is quoted by the AP as saying in an emailed statement regarding the allegations, “We believe we are on the leading edge of the next evolution of nightlife in Las Vegas and that The Act fills a niche for patrons looking for an alternative to the typical Las Vegas big-box club scene.”
