Tennessee – The parents of a child who was allegedly paddled excessively in school have filed a $1.7 million lawsuit against a principal and others. As reported by The Daily Caller, Sandra Hall and Jason Williams, the parents of Lukas Williams, allege that their 5-year-old son sustained deep bruising and inflammation after being spanked repeatedly by Sunbright Elementary School principal Elizabeth Boyd.

Boyd was charged with child abuse and neglect following an investigation by the Morgan County Sheriff.

Sandra Hall is quoted in the report as previously stating to CBS affiliate WVLT of the incident, “My child wasn’t spanked. He was beaten.”

The child has since been removed from the elementary school and is now being homeschooled.
